2011 BMW F800R Review
BMW Motorrad new ethos is to be more daring and state of the art, like the side of his BMW car and illustrated by S1000RR Superbike. Not only the RR to become the best selling BMW in the United States, the average age of owners just 34 years."A great success," is how Mr. Pieter de Waal, BMW Motorrad USA, VP, says S1000RR, especially when the depressed market. "When you sell something that nobody needs," says de Waal, "it is better to give them a good reason to buy."Thus, in his efforts to obtain "futuristic younger, more dynamic drivers city F800R is offered by American pilots for the first time, replacing the mechanically similar to BMW F800S 2011 collection. 800ST remains unchanged.

2011 BMW F800R
Like a naked sport bike, is a decathlete F800R gender, able to barge his way through commuter traffic on Monday, then rip the canyons on the weekends. Comfortable upright ergonomics offers accommodating, with a piece handlebar just to go ahead - perfect.

2011 BMW F800R
A little more important information about the options: F800R is the last to abandon the German model of the BMW brand traditional three-button switch available to the combined indicators is the same right as all other bikes with the exception of Harley. All switches 800R feels accurate and smooth, and adjustable levers ensure a variable to reach.
BMW roadster feeling fine mid-range between the knees, the assistance of the fuel tank is positioned under the seat. It up to 4.1 liters of the ship, the R is said to weigh only 440 pounds.
FR fire easily and quickly installed in a slow motion. Its 798cc parallel twin, is well known for F800 owners with the firing order of 360 degrees even with a combustion event occurs with each rotation of the crank, the pistons move up and down together. This is the firing sequence same as used on BMW Boxer Twins, giving them a sound like the exhaust.

2011 BMW F800R
Although the design of the DOHC cylinder head is similar to the K1300 engine, using finger followers for activation cam is the parallel-Twin screamer. It has a linear power accumulation that comes on strong at 6000 rpm when the torque peaks, rushing to a climax the wheel 80 horsepower at the rear, as measured by 800ST since we last tested. BMW tells us to expect an almost identical number.
New F800R is the use of a fuel system that offers variable pressure precisely the amount of fuel and timing based on the desired power. This makes more efficient than a constant flow system the only fuel that varies depending on the duration without any change in the calendar, and it eliminates the need for a fuel line return. This requires a sophisticated ECU with four times the processing power, and BMW says it offers better power transfer, better economy and lower emissions. The F800 engine has already proven to be fuel efficient, on average, an excellent 48 mpg with our 800ST, although it requires premium fuel. BMW claims an average of 55 mpg for the 800R, which we were unable to check with our time limited places.
Perhaps the most lovable personality chassis tuning 800R, which feels very neutral in all situations swing. Bars wide enough allow a quick check but sure to rake 25.0 degrees and 91mm of trail, while a thin 59.8-inch wheelbase and a steering damper into the crown provides reassuring stability. It is an accomplice willing and able, from a residential to a mountain road sweeping.

2011 BMW F800R
A compromise largest naked bike is discovered during highway riding - one standing and the lack of protection against the wind brings its own victims. F800R yet good enough. A thin waist and accessories, body-color screen ($ 250) handles most of the airflow is directed against a rider, relatively speaking.
How F800GS and 800ST, twin line advantage to rotate the arm behind the balancing of the crankshaft to combat vibration, a single agreement between the motorcycle engines. Auction replacement moves the pistons up and down in the opposite direction to the system that is quieter than chains or gears that turn the traditional balancing. However, some low amplitude generous feeling you experience at highway speeds. The engine turns about 5100 rpm 80 mph, which is just around the vibration seeps its way into the pilot. That said, the atmosphere is high frequency, so Im not entirely embarrassing. Although there is no room for the legs, a saddle hours causing pain in the ass to zero.
Smoothed over by a highway around a generous 4.9-inch travel on both ends. No changes for 43mm forks, but the rear suspension has spring preload and rebound damping regulations, as well as manually adjustable dial. This is a compromise between effective control and comfort, which is suitable personalities R.

2011 BMW F800R
Instrumentation is a variant of the meters on the F800S others here with an analog speedometer sits atop an analog speedometer, flanked by a panel of info LCD, which can be changed by different screens. For example, each following our test bike tire pressure optional ($ 250) and heated grips ($ 250) have their own readings. A speedometer-position is handy and easy to read - we wish the same could be said about the small numbers on the speedometer.
The F800R is an attractive platform and versatile, and one of its advantages over its competitors is a wide range of options and accessories to create your taste. A good place to start is the premium package that bundles ABS brakes, heated grips and trip computer for $ 1445.
Other options include a handy 12-volt accessory outlet ($ 50), alarm ($ 395), expandable side bags and the center stand. Added Cosmetics codon, radiator with cover plate and the vacuum pump. Akropovic titanium exhaust is the only performance of the component. We have repeatedly extolled the virtues of a naked sport bike, believing that offer the best compromise of versatility, performance and value. Our time aboard the F800R only reinforced these perceptions. This do-almost-all-premium producer of motorcycle retail price of less than $ 10,000. The addition of desirable options boost the price (as tested, our cost of about $ 12K), but were happy so many are only available to fit the rider.

2013 BMW HP4 S1000RR

The BMW and its BMW Motorrad Motorsport division, introducing the first four cylinder motorcycle, the BMW HP4, for model year 2012. A technical and engineering progression that started with the very first HP model back in 2005, the HP4 harnesses the same water-cooled four-cylinder in-line engine found on the BMW S 1000 RR. Able to generate 193 horsepower, BMW added "Rain", "Sport", "Race" and "Slick" modes for an even power distribution despite the ride conditions.

Race ABS, along with Dynamic Traction Control, both optimized for two wheels, there is even a Launch Control function like those on high-end performance cars. Already the lightest among four-cylinder superbikes at just 199 kilos, more weight can be taken off with its Competition Package of carbon fiber elements and special alloy accessories. The BMW HP4 will be arriving at the BMW showroom near you shortly.

2011 BMW R1200R Touring Special
Now BMW Motorrad is going further still with the attractive package "Touring Special”, enhancing the R 1200 R which already possesses strong all-round qualities - in terms of comfort and travel/touring suitability, as well as providing a visual upgrade.
With the R 1200 R, BMW Motorrad cultivates a tradition in roadster construction with stretches back over decades. With a spirited output of 80 kW (109 bhp), the naked bike of the flat twin “Boxer” series offers a virtually perfect synthesis of riding dynamics, agility and classic motorcycle design.
Fitted with this package, the 2011 BMW R1200R Touring-Special not only has an on board computer but also heated grips and a main stand.
In this version, the 2011 BMW R1200R Touring-Special particularly does justice to more exacting demands in relation to touring/travel suitability with a new comfort seat which is exclusively available as part of this package. As in the standard version, the seat height is 800 millimetres but with an inner leg length of 1840 mm (standard version: 1800 mm), thus providing an ergonomic triangle designed for even greater comfort. The specific ergonomic needs of tall riders are addressed by the optionally available high comfort seat with height of 830 mm and an inner leg length of 1860 mm.

The Sport windshield ensures perceptible relief for the upper body and further enhanced ride comfort, especially over longer stretches. For carrying luggage the special model of the R 1200 R has two 32-litre common locking panniers and a luggage rack.
The package “Touring Special” can be combined with all the standard paint finishes of the R 1200 R. A special touch is also added by the chrome exhaust system and the LED direction indicators.
Further options for individualisation are provided by the extensive BMW Motorrad program of special equipment and special accessories.
